Happy Birthday, Sean!!
June 23 fell on a Sunday this year. So after church we went to La Barbecue for lunch (pictured in the Clement's 11 month post) and then home to open some gifts and nap.
So off we drove to Gruene. Ate dinner at the Gristmill, where I couldn't get his bday candles to light due to all the ceiling fans blowing out my matches. Food was yummy, of course.
Our real reason for the trek was 100% worth it-- we've been fans of Warren Hood for a while, and he was having a CD release party at Gruene Hall that evening. See brief video clip of his insane fiddling skills here.
We took turns burning up the dance floor with Josephine. (Have you tried dancing with a 4 year old? It is DANGEROUS. There is ZERO following, leading, predictability-- nothing. At some point Sean just started spinning her up in the air. By far the safest approach.)
After getting one of the new CD's signed by Warren, we ducked out entirely too early to get the wee ones back home and in bed. That's how birthdays go when you've got to be all responsible and whatever.
Had a candle lighting and blowing out party in their room before they hit the sack:
And that was the end of that completely successful and fabulous birthday celebration for Sean, who is now anciently old-- almost as old as me. :-)
