oh no, we're not exasperated at all.

we have embraced the squawk. granted, we don't take lydia too many places where i feel uncomfortable with her making noise, but there's not really much we can do about her "verbalizing."

one thing that allows us to laugh at the squawking is the mouth pat. you may recall doing racially insensitive native american dances as a child, where you pat your mouth repeatedly and gently with your fingers... just for giggles, try this with josephine when she squawks. it's one of my favorite things!

Too Funny!

I've got two words for you: OUTSIDE DINING.

You will find that your favorite restaurants will not be the ones with the best food, the most expansive wine list, or the greatest atmosphere. The mark of a good place to eat will now be if it has a patio outside for screaming babies to howl without disturbing others! :)

Typically this works better if the offender writes the sentence...so either Josephine has great penmanship, or found a sucker to do her dirty work, or her parents are losing their mind! Either way, as her uncle, I appreciate her willingnes to share with the world and encourage her to express herself more! Austin is definitely the type of town to entertain anyone's perspective and organize a protest. Better hope she's squawking good things about you or the first protest could be on your front lawn and result in a chalkboard full of 'I will do whatever Josephine wants, immediately and while smiling!'

hilarious. i can only say this with driest sense of humor at the present due to the fact that i have no children. my payback will one day come in triplicate, I am more than certain. however, i am sorry you can no longer go places unnoticed and quietly appreciated. sad times.

josephine, please figure out when it is a socially appropriate situation to squawk, and when it is most definitely not. i.e. never at all. thanks, kid.

oh that baby is precious!!! She is so beautiful! You will find a brief period of bliss in restaurant-going when she begins eating finger foods- they can stay occupied for an hour! But it passes quickly, because then they learn to throw the food.
