Intermission: June Updated

Before getting to a couple pictures from the actual wedding we attended, I decided I need to finish out a few missing posts from June (still ignoring Seattle)...

These, unlike the one I just mindlessly posted about August in the September folder, were retro-dated. So you can visit: June 2, June 17, and June 26, either by clicking on each of the dates I just typed, or by clicking on June in the left column and scrolling through the entire month to find the three new posts.

I also just found a video from February, which I guess I didn't post because it seemed too long and boring. But now that I have an entirely different child from the one in the video, I find it really interesting and cute. So I'm uploading it. Click here to go to the post, which has a link for the video.

Mid-August

Sean and I headed back to Bedford in the middle of August for my friend's wedding, and since there were a couple different ceremonies, meals, a cocktail hour and reception all spread throughout the day, we left Josephine (much to her delight) with her grandparents. Some snapshots that my Mom took...
She even got a visit from my mom's brother and sister-in-law and one of their dogs:
Aunt Janell wanted part of the action too...
Hiding in Aunt Janell's room...
I got to catch up with Darla and hang out with my mom and Janell some, which was great!
Although the guys seemed less interested (that's Darla's boyfriend Brad on the left, and my classy husband on the right)...

Another napshot (ha-- get it??) This is on the ride home the next day. It's so fun to have her forward-facing and getting to see such sweetness...

Sunday

Just thought this was cute. :-)

Oh, and please note the INCREDIBLE sectional my mom reupholstered for us! She took my brother's old couch and some hemp fabric we gave her and voila-- MADE OUR DAY! Day after day! Gracious, we love that thing-- it's so nice to have a couch.

(side note: I have sewn new cushion covers for the papasan and its ottoman, but we haven't picked out fabric for the chair Josephine is sitting in-- so that's just a duvet cover-- navy is not the final choice. Eventually I'll get a whole, finished room shot. No doubt, just in time for us to change our minds about something.)

"Bur" --a fitting nickname.

Wilbur has developed quite the fan in Josephine. Throughout the course of the day, I hear a lot about "Bur" with her pointing upstairs where he stays on the landing. As far as she knows, he "naps" a LOT-- but how else do you explain nocturnal to a 16 month old?I tried to get a few pictures of them together, but it's tough with having to run intervention. I'm worried if she gets too adamant of a feel, she'll decide she hates him (he automatically thrusts his spikes in the direction of an unexpected touch). So far, she's had enough touching to pretty well keep her distance, while still being fascinated and enjoying his huffing and puffing. But the accidental stumble could really be disastrous!Wilbur doesn't have a ton of fun with it, but it's cute to see Josephine get all excited and rambunctious about him, especially when he trots past her feet or off into a corner that's taped off and out of bounds for her (I tell her Wilbur doesn't have to "watch the line" because he's older than her).
Really, I know it's sad, Wilbur being all huddled in the corner while Josephine gazes out the window and carries on playing...

It's better when we're all outside, where Josephine takes the occasional break to eat cherry tomatoes off the plants, gather bird feathers, throw chunks of dirt, trip over roots, and knock on the backdoor in hopes that someone will let her back inside. Wilbur gets in some good bug-eating exploration then.

But he told me to add one more huddled picture for good measure-- he wants to make sure everyone feels sorry for him.
And my goodness, how does that NOT make your heart melt?

St. Louis added to June

So I FINALLY uploaded photos from St. Louis. I dated the entry as though I uploaded it in a timely fashion (ha ha, that's funny). So click on "June" on the left and you should see the post. Not all the photos uploaded properly, so some won't enlarge when you click on them. Tell me if you're wanting to print one of them, and I'll either send you a print or e-mail you the full file, whatever you prefer.
