Clement and Josephine are both still very much bookworms. When I went to get the camera for the above photo, Clement was lying on his stomach looking at the book, which I always find adorable, but when I came back he was sitting.
He seems to especially enjoy pointing out elephants; that's probably what he's smiling at here.
The other day he stacked a few Legos and decided it was an elephant; one was a bit longer than the others (trunk appendage, you see). He carried it around all morning, even to the store. While at the store, a piece came off and he stuck it on in a different place that made the whole thing look decidedly more like a rectangle than an elephant. So I pointed out, "Well, that doesn't look like an elephant anymore. Maybe a wall?"
Bad move. He was EXTREMELY unhappy with me. I was incorrect in my assessment of the new structure.
Still an elephant.
My friend, Stacey, had a birthday Thursday so she and Julien came over for dinner tonight. Good fun. We opened the windows to let in the cold air so we could excuse a fire in the fireplace, which delighted Clement far more than the other two, who were highly entertained chasing after each other all evening.
Made for a lively evening! (And kids so tuckered that I haven't heard a peep since closing their bedroom doors!)
