pass the time

I was doing some mending on the couch, which inspired Josephine to find her yarn sewing kit, which inspired Clement to turn into a yarn-unravelling kitten.

Thankfully, a book with trucks and ducks (penguins) proved a good enough distraction from that temptation.

He did a lot of reading out loud "beeeeepppp, beep beep [insert raspberry] zoom zoom beep zoom zooma zoom beeeeeep."  And Josephine did a lot of untangling her yarn, eventually completing the outer rim of her stop sign.

(I finished my mending, too, despite being distracted by their engrossed cuteness.)

Something about the whole experience felt like a time warp, as though I were sitting on the couch with miniature adults.   Amusing.   Regardless of what happens over the next 80 years, they might very well find themselves returning to these same poses, just a big more wrinkled and white-haired...  Can't you see it?
