If only ALL ducks had such squishable, kissable cheeks!
We met up with some friends for a little costume action at a local church's pumpkin party. Josephine's sporting the duck costume her Mama Jo found for her. Below is Julien, my friend Stacey's son who recently turned one.
Julien and Stacey:
Zanna was the most precious cowgirl ever, replete with great little boots (unfortunately, not pictured here). Josephine loved seeing her, like always. When she spotted Zanna and her family upon their arrival, she went from wanting me to pick her up to literally
pulling me in their direction!
I think Julien read the wrong job description for "dragon"; he was way too calm and amiable for the role! Look at this chill little guy!
The Allens facilitated some basketball for the girls. :-)
Julien is REALLY cute. He has one of the most charming grins I've ever seen. Josephine recognized this and warmed up to him super quickly. He, on the other hand, was not quite sure what to make of a large duck wanting (
insisting) on kissing him (
repeatedly).
Below he is looking directly at Sean. The expression is clear: "Sir, could you please get your daughter off of me?" He was so polite though-- never truly fussed about it. :-)
At one of the booths you coud sit for photos on motorcycles. Zanna was hilarious-- LOVED the things, climbed on them several times without help, and knew instinctively to lean forward for the handle bars! Totally adorable (if in a stop-mommy's-heartbeat, daredevilish way!)
Josephine was clearly less inclined!
We had a tiiiiiired ducky by the end (and a bit flushed, hence the loss of hood and stockings). This activity followed a costume party for the kids at our own church (which I unfortunately didn't get photos of, because I just dropped her off) and it all added up to missing her afternoon nap. But all in all, she was an adorable ducky and received many sweet compliments on her costume!
